A recent redesign of the area behind City Hall and the adjacent Huntitington Park provides easy and safe access to view the falls. In an effort to make the Downtown area more hospitable to pedestrians and tourists, the design includes several small spaces, tiered down the hillside in Huntington Park, in back of the the Washington Water and Power Building, for admiring the falls, enjoying a snack, or even getting married! In between City Hall and Washington Water and Power Building, an asphalt parking lot was removed, and it its place is a grand entrance to Huntington Park below and provides additional sitting and gathering space for groups to lunch and commune next to an artificial waterfall. This is the new Tribal Gathering Place.
12-12:30pm: Dance your pants off
Not literally of course, but come enjoy the warmer weather and great Swing music. Either find a seat and tap your toes, or grab a spot on the dance floor. This would bee a great time to practice last weeks step.
12:30- 1pm: FREE Lesson
Learn a basic step and a variation or two of that basic step within that class time. Ask questions, do the practice, meet some friends. It's that easy.
1-2pm: Dance, Dance, Dance
Partner or not, enjoy the company of like minded dancers who switch partners and enjoy DJ music for the last hour.
Dance Floor: Your dance floor is concrete, it is NOT advised to bring leather soled shoes or expensive dance shoes. The weather is most likely goint to be hot.

Weather: The weather is generally good, however there is always a chance of rain and wind. We will post on the Facebook event and this website if the event will be cancelled due to inclement weather. Please check at 11am for that decision. Click on the "Weather Check" button.

What to Wear: Make sure you dress appropriately for the activity and the environment. Wear supportive shoes for dancing out doors on concrete. Hats, sun screen, and fabrics that breathe are also advisable on the hot days. Bring a water bottle or money to grab snacks.

Spokane’s Lindy In the Park was a wonderful experience. We met a lot of wonderful people and initiated some new dancers. We set up in the beautiful Tribal Gathering Place next to City Hall and played for all to hear a fabulous collection of Swing music.
There was plenty of sunshine to light up the dance floor.
With the Downtown Spokane Partnership, we have created a project to connect Spokane with the park, and engage them in a healthy, social experience.
We look forward to continuing this program next year in a new location.
