2016 Swing Festival
Lindy Town, USA is hosting a Swing Festival in the auspicious month of April (Jazz Appriciation Month), April 22-24. This year we are expanding our programming to include the Vintage Life Fair, where patrons can learn about Ameircan culture during the Swing era. Join us for a weekend of concerts, dancing, and lectures.

Performances
The Spokane Vintage Swing Festival is created so you can enjoy the finest Swing Music. Each evening musicians will perform their collection of toe-tapping swing tunes for you to enjoy. These evenings are designed to entertain both swing dancers and swing enthusiasts. Dance halls have been selected to provide a beautiful environment for both listening and dancing.
Our Perfromances:
April 22, 2016: Hot Club of Spokane (Spokane, WA) at the Woman's Club of Spokane.
April 23, 2016: Greg Ruby & the Scofflaw Quintet (Seattle, WA) at the German American Club
A bonus for you:
Each evening a lesson is provided for brand new dancers one hour before the concerts. It will inlcude a basic step and something fancy to add on. The lesson is intended to be an ice breaker so you get introduced to dancing and new friends.
Vintage Life
The Spokane Vintage Swing Festival is opening up a second layer of programming. Swing music and dance is only one aspect of life during the Jazz, Big Band and Post WWII eras. We will provide talks on fun and novel aspects of American life the coming Saturday, April 23, 2016. These are add on events that you can enjoy during your Swing Festival Weekend at the German American Club near downtown.

The Spokane Vintage Swing Festival will be recreating the social gatherings of old for our Saturday night party. We are encouraging Swing Festival guests to dawn your best formal vintage or vintage reproductions. We have created a resource for you to look at formal garments of these eras. We encouraging all things vintage: hair, make-up, and clothing.

Lindy Exchange
The Spokane Vintage Swing Festival has a complimenary event called a Lindy Exchange. This event is meant to bring regional swing dancers together to enjoy some of Spokane's best music and some out of town favorites. But this is a special ticket and it's not for the weak. This ticket includes additional late night swing dancing where event goers dance until the wee hours of the morning, only taking a break after the evening dances to grab a bite to eat to fortify themselves.
These lindy exchanges are a global phenomenon. Vintage Swing communities around the globe host these events annually where local swing artists and venues are showcased. Participants, known as Lindy Hoppers, travel to these events, not for lessons or competition, but to enjoy the local swing community to share their passion for the many swing dances.
